Q&A: Looking for a good grinding coffee maker?

Question by Cochy: Looking for a good grinding coffee maker?
I’m looking for a coffee maker that grinds and brews. Cuisinart has some, but their reviews are kind of poor. Does anyone have a good one that has lasted and that works well? My fiance has a Cuisinart one, but it’s already starting to mess up after 3 years. Durability is pretty bad for a machine that cost over 00. Any ideas?
Sorry. It cost 0! I’m not that rich (I wish I were though)

i have the cuisinart and it works great! ive had it for about a year and no problems..Only drawbacks are its very noisy when it grinds and it is a pain to clean but it makes a great cup of coffee. I think my wife paid around for it.

What do you think? Answer below!

whatever you do make sure that you get a burr grinder, and not a blade. burr grinders crush the beans as opposed to chopping them, and make a more robust, better tasing coffee. but you surely don’t need to pay over $1000 for one unless you plan on opening your own Starbucks competition!!

I have the Melitta Grind and Brew. It’s OK. I have had it for a few years, and it gets used every day. I had to replace a few parts about 6 months ago, which were fairly inexpensive. It has a thermal carafe, which I like. I’d say it does the job and I have been satisfied with it.

If someone would come out with a coffee maker that holds the coffee in the maker, where you dispense a cup at a time, AND a grind and brew, the Melitta would be quickly replaced.

I have a Saeco Magic Comfort Plus and it makes the best cup of coffee I’ve ever had. They were available at Costco earlier this year, but I didn’t see them last time I was there. I have seen them for sale on eBay, too.

I have the Cuisinart digital grind and brew, with the silver carafe. It is wonderful and the 180.00 I paid is well worth it. I still have mine 6 years later.

Look in Walmart. Walmart has cheap makers but really good ones. i mean you cant judge stuff by the price. more the quality than the quantity. ^^ they still have it. if you cant go to a walmart go on:

http://www.walmart.com and type in coffee makers. ^^

    $18.00-$128.90
    :)
